Road
Lincolnshire is less than two hours by road from London.
Motorways
and dual carriageways are few and far between in Lincolnshire, but
getting around the county is easy enough. There is a good road
network and traffic is relatively light. Use a map, there is often
more than one way of getting somewhere. Do what the locals do - go
one way and come back another!
Motorway Link: A1, M1 north-south
M62, 180 east-west.
Major Roads:
A15 Humber Bridge – Peterborough
A16 Grimsby – Stamford
A17 Newark – Kings Lynn

Rail
If your are travelling to Lincolnshire, the train is a great
way to get there.
The main East Coast rail line through Peterborough,
Grantham and Newark provides connections to Lincoln, Grimsby, Cleethorpes,
Boston,
Skegness, Spalding and Stamford.
Central Trains include services from:
Peterborough, Leicester, Nottingham, Birmingham, Newark, Derby, Doncaster,
Loughborough and Burton-on-Trent
and more.
Sea
The most popular route from Europe is by Sea. This means you can
bring your car and even your bike!
Hull provides car ferry links
to Rotterdam and Zeebrugge with P & O
Ferries. Hull is only 20 minutes from the north of Lincolnshire.
Air
Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield, Humberside International
Airport and East Midlands Airport are close to Lincolnshire. Other
airports that service the East Midlands are Manchester and Birmingham.
London Stansted is also easily accessed with a dual carriageway all
the way from there into the county.
From most airports you can jump
on a National Express Coach to Lincolnshire. Or alternatively hire
a car and do as the locals do – go one
way and come back the other, taking as long or as little time as
you like.
