Undoubtedly one of the finest examples of Restoration country house architecture with stunning interiors, magnificent lanscaped park and formal gardens. Belton House was used for both exterior and interior scenes at Rosings in the BBC series.

This stunning Elizabethan mansion, complete with walled courtyards and a gabled gatehouse, stands today as it was completed in 1600. It has never been sold and its varied contents reflect 400 years of unbroken family occupation with fine textiles, porcelain, furniture and pictures. The Hall is surrounded with six acres of romantic walled and wild gardens. Both the Hall and Gardens featured in BBC2 1980 adaptation.

This National Trust owned estate was used as the exterior Pemberley in the BBC series and featured the famous scene where a drenched Darcy emerged from the lake. Set in the North West of the Peak District, Lyme Hall, a Palladian mansion is surrounded by 1300 acres of deer park.

Built in 1660 and now owned by the National Trust, the Hall is home to one of the grandest long galleries in England. It is also famed for its Museum of Childhood, a must for families of all ages. Sudbury hall for used in the in the BBC adaptation as one of the interior location of Pemberley.

Laycock Village, with its lime-washed, half-timbered and stone houses, served as the village of Meryton while rooms at the late 17th Century Abbey were used for some of Pemberley’s interior scenes in the BBC series.
